Key Study Passage: Isaiah 53
Today’s study passage is an arresting portrait of Jesus, the Suffering Servant – written 700 years before the events of the Gospels took place. That’s like painting Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” blindfolded. And yet, the fact Isaiah 53 exists reveals the depth of God’s unwavering love for us. Before the time was even ripe, he was already making plans to rescue us from our sin and bring us back to himself. All obstacles dissolve in the face of that kind of love.
- Go to a distraction-free place. Read his passage twice, pausing to meditate on each verse.
- What are some feelings you experience and responses you are moved to make as you reflect on this passage?
- Make a list of things that Christ’s death accomplished.
- Thank God for each of the things that were accomplished and spend some time worshiping him for his amazing grace.
Spend Time in Prayer: Reflect on Jesus’s death for you. Praise God for his wonderful plan and thank him for going to the lengths he did to bring you back to him.
