Key Bible Verse: For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. (Psalm 33:4)
Dig Deeper: 2 Peter 1:16-21
On several occasions, I have been given an iTunes gift card. The resources are uploaded to my account; however, I cannot download any movies, or television shows unless I log in and gain access.
Faith is the login for our access to the Word of God, through the gospel. Reading, meditation, memorization, [listening to] preaching, hearing, etc. – we must pursue all of these outlets to be exposed to God’s Word.
We have to trust that what God says is true. In order to receive something, we must believe that it is true or trust it. We must trust God by trusting in all that he says. Our greatest obstacle to growth is trusting that the heart of God is telling the truth. [We can say “Amen” to] what is in the Word with our lips, but in our hearts deny it. Consequently, the [application] for us must be, “For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him. That is why it is through him that we utter out Amen to God for his glory” (2 Cor. 1:20, ESV).
Our growth deepens on having the Word in us so deeply that it is as if the Word is a part of our soul’s nature.
