Confidence in Christ

Examine Your Prayer Life

Key Bible Verse: Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. (Ephesians 3:12)

Dig Deeper: Hebrews 10:19-25

I urge you now to take a moment to examine your relationship with this amazing God. Do you believe that only those who trust in Christ can be declared not guilty of reason against the Most High God. Do you believe that because of Christ’s death on the cross we can be saved from the slavery of sin, the guilt of sin, and an eternal hell? If not, I implore you to stop right now and take a radical time-out. Reflect on this liberating truth that will free you from self, sin, and hell. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead (Rom. 10:9-10).

If you do believe, then cry out to God to give you a greater understanding of his great love for you. Let his perfect love drive away the fears that have been hindering your prayers, oppressing you, and stealing your joy. Then begin to pray in the confidence we have in Christ. Our confidence is not in our prayers, it is not even in our faith. Rather, our confidence is in the person of Christ who has opened the way for us to have access to God the Father (see today’s Key Bible Verse).
