Key Bible Verse: One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. (Psalm 27:4, NIV)
Dig Deeper: Psalm 84
[In heaven], God will be ever present, and we will be ever present to God. Because [of this], heaven means constant ecstasy. In our lives on earth,we enter and leave the ecstasy of engagement with God, but in heaven we will dwell in that engagement.
As we work,
As we converse,
As we serve, and
As we carry on with the routine life of heaven …
… We will be fully engaged in the very presence of God. We will at all times carry with us the experience of God’s presence. In this world we carry some bit of great news for a bubbly day or two. In heaven, the bubbly joy of engagement with God will never cease.
God shapes heaven for those who delight in him so much they want to dwell in his presence and gaze upon his ever-expanding beauty all eternity long. It is not selfish on God’s part to be glorified; it is right and good. In fact, it is gracious of God to grant us such endless basking in his love.
