He Did It All

Humbled by God's Glory

Key Bible Verse: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly reams because we are united with Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

Dig Deeper: Ephesians 1:3-14

Worship is one of the greatest gifts that God has given to you so that you might think rightly of yourself in light of his matchless glory. As you rehearse the truth of his word in your songs and prayers and meditation, you are reminding yourself of how completely perfect he is and of the righteousness that you have because you are hidden in him. As you worship, the Spirit fills you with a glory that is not your own and reminds you of your greatest identity: you are an adopted son or daughter of God, not because you earned it, but because Christ earned it for you at the cross.

Your value is not in anything that you bring to the table, but in the person and work of Jesus. He formed you, called you, saved you, and adopted you by his power and for his glory. He did it all from the beginning to the end. You were dead and hopeless. Dead people have no power to even call for help, let alone roll the stone away from their own grave. But because God is who he is, he sent the same Spirit that rolled Jesus’s stone away to waken us to life that we might praise his glorious grace.
