Move That Mountain!


Key Bible Verse: “I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.” (Mark 11:23)

Dig Deeper: 

God really does answer whatever we ask when we pray the kinds of prayers that Jesus promised he would answer. The prayer that Jesus prescribes is the kind that stalks up to a mountain and gestures an imperious finger toward the ocean, knowing that God’s power will prove sufficient (Matt. 17:20).

What mountain stands in the way of your family or church? What peak needs to be levelled for your ministry to advance or for you to impact your workplace for Christ? Get down on your knees and pray something unequivocal. Once you see one obstacle removed, your faith will be strong enough to bulldoze a hill. Once the hill rolls aside, you won’t be so reticent to pray down a peak. No godly work will be impossible when you pray specific prayers that build your faith.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen” (Eph. 3:20-21, NIV).
