Key Bible Verse: “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV)
Dig Deeper: Luke 24:13-35
Andrew, our director of ministries, was reflective as he tried to describe a conversation he’d had with his ailing mother-in-law. They had talked about the things that matter most of all: her relationship with God, hope in Christ, eternal security. But it wasn’t merely a conversation. “All I can say is God visited us. It was a holy moment.” Andrew’s eyes widened and he leaned forward, earnest. “Do you ever have the sense that this is real? I mean really real? These are the truest things of all. God really is with us. He really does want to spend eternity with us. He really has prepared a place for us. God really is serious about completing what he began in us!”
This wasn’t a moment of Andrew reviewing the facts of his faith. This was a visit from the One in whom his faith resides.
As followers of Christ, we expect and invite God’s involvement in our day-to-day lives. We ask him, among other things (following the pattern of the Lord’s Prayer), to bring glory to his holy name, advance his kingdom, carry out his will in and through us, meet our daily needs, forgive our repeated failings, and protect us from the schemes of the evil one. Kairos moments are the window moments in which god gives us a glimpse of him doing these very things.
