Something to Give

Key Bible Verse: We all have different gifts, each of which came because of the grace God gave us. (Romans 12:6, NCV)

Dig Deeper: Romans 12:4–8

You don’t have to be some great religious leader with an impressive résumé and credentials to be able to offer something needful to your community.

If God, in his sovereignty, has orchestrated your steps in your community and placed you before an audience, he has given you something to give. Even if what you have is only a cup of cold water, that cup of water is exactly what God wants them to receive, because it is what he gave you to give to them. Don’t fall into the “I don’t have anything to offer” trap; you have something to give—so give it!

Navigating through your community will require time and effort. You must be willing to do what it takes to get unstuck, to take the journey and to be guided in order to learn and to give what God has given you. If you do so, your navigation will direct you to the heart of your community destination. You may end up being totally surprised at the outcomes God accomplishes through your journey simply because you paid the price to get there.
