Spiritual Matchmaking

Key Bible Verse: I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. (1 Corinthians 9:22b)

Dig Deeper: 1 Corinthians 9:19-22

I like being a matchmaker, much to the dismay of my single friends. But when you have a good marriage, you want everyone to experience that amazing friendship. The same should be true in our relationship with Christ. We need to be willing to reallocate our time and energy because we are so in love with God that we want the people we care about to discover the same God we love and who loves us.

Paul was a matchmaker. Seeking to match up others with God, Paul wrote [today’s Dig Deeper]. We need to learn to share with others, naturally and in appropriate moments, how amazing a relationship with Jesus can be. We should be more motivated to become [spiritual] matchmakers. We need to say no more often to our busyness so that we can create room for spontaneous adventures with others. We need to turn off our televisions and spend time in coffee shops. Ultimately, we need to reorient our lives so that we begin to invest in people.
